If you have a dental crown, then you should do all you can to keep it strong and reliable. If you clean and care for it regularly, then there is a better chance that it will last many years. So, to help you keep your dental crown in tip-top shape, our dentist, Dr. Lawrence Wu, encourages you to do the following things:

-Brush: Brush your dental crown twice a day (as well as your other teeth). As you do so, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Brushing can help you remove the harmful substances that gather around your crown and threaten to harm your smile.

-Floss: Floss around your dental crown (as well as your other teeth) at least once a day. As you floss, use a product that is easier to maneuver. That way you don’t have any trouble removing the harmful substances from each side of the crown.

-Visit your dentist: Attend your six-month checkups so our dental team can deeply clean your dental crown and make sure it is still in great condition. If it’s not, we can take measures to treat the problem and we can give you additional tips to keep your restoration strong.
